Cycle rides and cycling events that I know of, and that are within reach of Barking, are now listed in the Hubbub Meetup group. (“Hubbub” is named after the London Cycling Campaign‘s (LCC) Newsletter for the NE Greater London LCC branches.)
Other organisers of the Hubbub Meetup group add events they know of in NE London and I’m always interested to hear of events that are suitable for inclusion. If you are the organiser of suitable events, please let me know, and I will consider making you an organiser of the Meetup group so that you can add events directly, to save me adding them all myself!
One doesn’t need to be a member of the Hubbub Meetup group to see the events listed. Many of the events listed require registration with the organizers of the event, and I have indicated this where relevant. RSVPs to the Meetup group itself are not registration (unless stated otherwise) – though the organisers of the Meetup group can see who has RSVP-ed.
I have put links below to groups/organisations hosting rides/events, or lists of rides/events. Rides / events from these sources may not be on the Hubbub Meetup group – please check with the organiser to be certain. If you know of any groups or events lists that can be relevantly included here, please let me know.
It is also worth checking the Barking & Dagenham Cycling Campaign Facebook page for clues about rides/events. If you want to receive occasional e-mails about Stibasa things, including late notice of rides and events, please join our Google group.
20/11/20 – please note that some of these links are old and have not been checked recently. Groups may be inactive becuse of Covid, or may have ceased operations.

A social cycling group based in Leytonstone. “We ride for enjoyment and fitness and our regular Saturday morning rides are around 45-55 miles long – further in the summer.
If you are interested in getting fitter our friendly and informal group rides are ideal. We ride out around the quiet country lanes of Essex and always include a welcome stop for coffee. You will find yourself improving in no time and riding further than you would on your own.
Saturday rides usually leave at 8:30am from the junction where Browning Rd meets Bushwood (E11 3AY)”
